5G FWA requires no more than a small 5G receiver, which is a compact device easily installed in doors, and a wifi modem. An additional outdoor mounted antenna helps improve the signal strength, we have many antenna options available depending on the particular application. As with mobile phones, the geographic location, building materials, window treatments and other obstacles can all make a difference to the quality of the signal. The high gain antenna has a 180 degrees field of view which means there is no need to point them directly at the base station and a number of different mount options are available.
Installation is quick and easy, particularly if a window mount is used, which means they can be self-installed. The 5G FWA installation app guides you through the process and with augmented reality you can visualise where the 5G station is in relation to your premises to determine the best location for the installation of the receiver.
Once the receiver is in place this is connected to the router via an ethernet cable. Devices are then connected either via Wi-Fi or cable connection.
