Please run through this list before giving us a call:<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span>Turn it off and on again<\/span>\u00a0<br \/><span>While this sounds like a stock IT response, you\u2019d be amazed at how often this works. The first thing to do is to check that all the cables are plugged in. If that doesn\u2019t resolve the issue, turn the modem off and on again. To do this with an SB2 modem:<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ol><li><span>Remove power leads from both the Brdy supplied modem and the 3rd party Wi-Fi router.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>Put power to Brdy supplied modem back in and wait approx. 5mins for reboot to complete.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>Now put power for 3rd part router back in and allow 5mins for restart to complete and test if Wi-Fi now working again.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span>To do this with an SB2+ modem is even easier, simply remove the power lead and put the power back in.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span>Moving your modem within your house can also cause issues so if you have moved it, try moving it back to where it was.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><b><span>Discharge the static from the modem<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<br \/><span>Over time, static energy can build up in the modem. This can stop it working, but is easily fixed by following these steps:<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ol><li><span>Unplug the modem from the power source<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>Unplug the Ethernet cable from the modem<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>Unplug the coaxial cable from the modem<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>Now plug the modem back to the power source for 10 seconds<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>Unplug the modem from the power source again<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>Reattach the coaxial cable to the modem<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>Reattach the Ethernet cable to the modem<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>Plug the modem back into the power source<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span>Unplugging all the cables and putting the power cable back in releases energy from the sockets and often will get the modem working again.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><b><span>Replace the router ethernet cable<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<br \/><span>If you are using an SB2 modem, rather than an SB2+, it will have an external router connected by an ethernet cable. This can be the cause of some issues, so if you have another cable, try using that to see if that is the cause of the issue.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><b><span>Check the dish alignment<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<br \/><span>Extreme weather can cause your dish to move out of alignment or you may be moving it purposefully if you use satellite internet with a mobile home or if you have moved house and taken the system with you. Follow the steps below to ensure your dish is correctly aligned.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ol><li><span>Go to:\u202f<\/span><span>Viasat Tech Tools App<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>Enter postcode or area, note beam colour result.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>When connected to the Brdy supplied modem via Wi-Fi\/Ethernet, open web browser.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>Enter 192.168.100.1\/install, select beam colour and click next (or black arrow)\u00a0<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>Click finish to lock on to beam, hopefully with 10dB+ SNR signal.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>This will take you to 192.168.100.1 modem status page to show if online.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>This will activate the dish pointing process where the transceiver on the dish will to start making a *beeping* Sound and you will physically need to adjust the dish by elevation and direction.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>When you are close to locking on to the signal the Beeps will become quicker until will make the dish to start making a continuous (Solid Tone).<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>The Current Rx SNR readings on the modem needs to be at least 10dB or higher this will indicate that the dish is in full alignment.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span>When the SNR signal is 10dB or above click Finish.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span>If these actions don\u2019t solve the issue, do get in touch.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"eael-accordion-list\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"my-internet-is-slow-what-should-i-do-\" class=\"elementor-tab-title eael-accordion-header\" tabindex=\"0\" data-tab=\"2\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1102\"><span class=\"eael-accordion-tab-title\">My internet is slow, what should I do? <\/span><span class=\"eael-advanced-accordion-icon-closed\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fa-accordion-icon fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"eael-advanced-accordion-icon-opened\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fa-accordion-icon fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span><\/div><div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1102\" class=\"eael-accordion-content clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" aria-labelledby=\"my-internet-is-slow-what-should-i-do-\"><p><span>First, we recommend you try changing your Wi-Fi channel. We find that a huge amount of buffering issues can be resolved by changing the Wi-Fi channel. The Wi-Fi channel is set to auto by default. This means that when you connect the modem, it will find the first working channel and keep this, even if a different channel may provide a faster service. \u202fIn our experience, channel 11 provides the fastest service.\u00a0<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span>If that doesn\u2019t help, you\u2019ll want to get an accurate picture of how slow your internet is. You need to use a dedicated speed test tool as many websites can\u2019t accommodate the latency inherent with\u00a0<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"eael-accordion-list\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"im-running-out-of-data-and-dont-know-why\" class=\"elementor-tab-title eael-accordion-header\" tabindex=\"0\" data-tab=\"3\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1103\"><span class=\"eael-accordion-tab-title\">I\u2019m running out of data and don\u2019t know why?<\/span><span class=\"eael-advanced-accordion-icon-closed\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fa-accordion-icon fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"eael-advanced-accordion-icon-opened\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fa-accordion-icon fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span><\/div><div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1103\" class=\"eael-accordion-content clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" aria-labelledby=\"im-running-out-of-data-and-dont-know-why\"><p><span>Keeping track of your data manually is harder than you think. There\u2019s a cost associated with this, but the free trial for 30 days which should be enough to give you a handle on where your data is being used.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"eael-accordion-list\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"how-do-i-connect-the-sb2-standard-modem-to-my-own-router-\" class=\"elementor-tab-title eael-accordion-header\" tabindex=\"0\" data-tab=\"4\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1104\"><span class=\"eael-accordion-tab-title\">How do I connect the SB2 standard modem to my own router? <\/span><span class=\"eael-advanced-accordion-icon-closed\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fa-accordion-icon fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"eael-advanced-accordion-icon-opened\"><i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fa-accordion-icon fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span><\/div><div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1104\" class=\"eael-accordion-content clearfix\" data-tab=\"4\" aria-labelledby=\"how-do-i-connect-the-sb2-standard-modem-to-my-own-router-\"><p><span>Simply run a lan cable from ethernet port on modem to Wan port (where possible) on wireless router.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span>If you are a business user with a fixed IP the process is a little more involved.
